Diego Lopez Montull for Red Bulletin Mexico

Diego Lopez Montull is a mega-strong climberand Five Ten Elite Athlete, from Mexico City. He spends half his time in Boulder, CO, projecting with some of the top climbers in the world and the other half in his hometown in Mexico. I got to spend a few days with him photographing some of his local projects. Had a blast hanging out and hearing stories of all the places he's climbed around the world. Looking forward to kicking it with him again!

Red Bull Rampage for JayBird Sport

Rampage!!!

The word says it all. And it was screamed incessantly by the crowd through megaphones over the 2 days of the comp. The riders went balls-to-the-wall over the week, literally riding down sheer cliff faces (or in some cases completely falling off them) and hucking huge tricks off of mind-numbing jumps (like the 76-foot Canyon Gap below).

Not all of the riders made it out safely, whom my heart goes out to for putting so much on the line. One rider had to be life-flighted out after a bad crash in the finals, in which he broke his T-12 vertebrae and lost feeling in both his legs. We're all praying and sending positive vibes out to Paul Bas as he fights his way back to normalcy in the hospital.

If you want to see a video of just how gnarly this event was, check out this video. I warn though, it is not for the faint of heart.
