You think you've got it bad?

Today made me realize how much I take for granted and how my problems in life really aren't that big of a deal. At least i can walk, speak, and take care of myself. I don't have to rely on anyone to do the simplest of tasks like bathing, drinking, or eating.
I started shooting my story on this hospice patient today. It is honestly hard for me to look at a lot of my pictures. I've never felt this emotionally troubled with shooting anything. I'm going to be working with this family until the end. This family consists of a 96 year old woman with dimensia and her daughter who lost her husband in february and trying to make it through her last days. The Appalachian Community Visiting Nurse Association has been working with them and helping them deal with everything and is who hooked me up with them. I'm asking anyone who is willing to pray for them and myself to make it through this.

great images - in the end, when we push ourselves to photograph in difficult situations we are able to both learn and teach the most.
