This is the Jessup family. They loosely use the term Anarcho Christians and naturalists to describe their belief system, and dress similar to mennonite fashion. They have 6 kids and moved to Evansville from Wadesville County to escape from their property that was contaminated with lead, only to realize that their new house has the same problem. It has caused health, growth, and slight mental disorders in their children from being exposed to it. The kids are usually kept inside all day because their yard isn't safe to play in. Their back yard is a little safer, due to putting down more dirt and straw, but the kids still have to be careful to avoid direct contact with it. They are in the process of building a new house near Bowling Green, KY but are having financial trouble because they are having a hard time selling their house. They were the most welcoming family I've ever photographed and invited me to come back whenever I wanted and continue telling their story. I'm definitely going to take them up on that offer.

Sick frame of the girl with her hammock, I like it a lot. How did you meet the family?
