I can't believe it's been a year since my first experience at Burning Man. It's crazy how much can change in a year. I feel like a completely different person this time around. Excited to get back to Imagination Land and reconnect with my friends from around the country. Here's a bunch of outtakes from last year that I never got around to sharing. Leaving on Monday for a week into the hot, dusty oblivion. Make sure to check back after I return!

Miscellaneous Fun
Some random photos from the last coupe weeks of summer. Winding down into Burning Man time. I leave next Monday! If anyone happens to be interested in any photos from the event, please contact me through email. Had to say goodbye to my car this Saturday as a result of the Astro Van Taxi took an unexpected left turn as I was going through a green light. Poor Beachball… I really liked that car. Super bummed after I just dropped a grand into getting it running up to par. Managed to escape with only a couple scrapes and bruises though. Now to deal with insurance companies...

Gold Star Manor for The Wall Street Journal
It's stories like these that make me feel blessed to be a photographer. I spent two days at Gold Star Manor for The Wall Street Journal with writer, Michael Phillips, as we got to know the mothers and fathers of fallen soldiers who fought for our country. After hearing the family's stories and seeing the devastation of losing a child, the cost of war had never hit so close to home for me. My heart goes out to the people I photographed, as well as the many others in our country that have been affected by the war. I was honored to share the stories of the families and spend some time with them. Story and slideshow here.
